When will Nelly Korda play next? World No. 1 in the middle of extended break

Nelly Korda of the United States walks off the 18th tee during the final round of the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions 2025 at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club on February 02, 2025 in Orlando, Florida.

For the second year in a row, Nelly Korda has chosen to skip the LPGA’s spring Asian swing. While nine of the top-10 players in the world gear up for this week’s HSBC Women’s World Championship, Korda is the only one taking the week off.

Actually, the World No. 1 is in the midst of a month-and-half break from the tour. She’ll miss events held in Thailand, Singapore and China these next two months, returning for the Ford Championship March 27-30 in Chandler, Arizona.

Korda’s 2024 season extended all the way up to Christmas, as she played in both the Grant Thornton Invitational and PNC Championship with her father, Petr. She had only about one week off before returning to work for her ninth season on tour.Korda’s No. 1 goal, as always, is to stay healthy. She suffered a neck injury last fall and was forced to miss the fall Asian swing as well.

“If my body is not feeling 100 percent,” said Korda, “then I’m not going to push it.”

Last year, Korda took a seven-week break this time of year and didn’t miss a beat, winning her first tournament back at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship in California. That event has been canceled for 2025.

“I kind of have the first part of year until Chevron kind of set,” said Korda of her 2025 plans. “After that it’ll be just how my body is feeling.
Korda opened the season at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in late January where she finished second. She then tied for seventh at the Founders Cup in her hometown of Bradenton, Florida.
