Camila Giorgi finds new job in Argentina after accusation of fleeing from Italy to avoid criminal investigations.

Former Italian tennis player Camila Giorgi has started an interesting job, just months after some serious accusations. The 33-year-old retired mysteriously last year after losing to current world number two Poland’s Iga Swiatek in the second round of the Miami Open.

After her retirement, there were accusations against her where it was claimed that she flew the country to avoid paying unpaid tax. Those accusations were denied by her lawyers Federico Marini and Cristian Carmelo Nicotra. They did not only deny that the former world number 26’s retirement was not because of such allegations and confirmed that she would return to the country to face any investigation regarding such accusations.
“No intention of escaping investigations or responsibilities, indeed there has always been maximum transparency and collaboration when required,” they said. “In any case Camila will soon return to Italy and will be able to give all the necessary explanations, also through her lawyers, in the competent offices.”

Giorgi has now mysteriously appeared to be working as a presenter in Argentina with IEB+, the title sponsors of the Argentina Open. The Macerata-born shared the development in a post on her official account on the social media platform Instagram and later shared reels as well, in which she interviewed several players, including local favourite Sebastian Baez.
