Andy Murray disappoints former coach with Novak Djokovic decision

One of Andy Murray’s former coaches has spoken out after he ended his working relationship with Novak Djokovic. The Brit started coaching his old rival during the off-season, just a few months after ending his own professional tennis career.

Murray joined Djokovic at several big tournaments this season, but they suddenly announced their split last week, with the French Open on the horizon. And Murray’s ex-coach, Amelie Mauresmo, who is now the tournament director in Paris, is disappointed that they will no longer be together for the second Grand Slam of the season.

A former world No. 1 and multi-Grand Slam champion herself, Mauresmo spent two years coaching Murray from the spring of 2014 and was even in his box when he faced Djokovic in big finals.

The Roland Garros chief was “surprised but not shocked” when Murray and Djokovic joined forces, but their run has now come to an end.
