David Beckham turns 50 today and the man who helped invent the brand Beckham, his former publicist Alan Edwards has now opened up about his memories working with the former Manchester United star – as he evolved into the global superstar he is today.

He remembers meeting a 19-year-old David, who had just returned to Manchester United from being on loan at Preston North End. Alan was there as David’s personal life and career skyrocketed – through meeting his future wife Victoria Beckham and enduring his infamous World Cup sending off.
