The No. 1 women’s golfer in the world is headed to the ShopRite LPGA Classic.

Nelly Korda will tee it up when the $1.75 million Classic is held June 6-8 on the Bay Course at Seaview, a Dolce Hotel in Galloway Township.

Korda won seven LPGA titles, including five straight starts, last year. She was the Rolex Player of the Year. Korda regained the No. 1 spot in the Rolex Ranking in March of 2024 and has held it ever since.

The 26-year-old has yet to win this year but has two top-10 finishes in six starts.

Korda is one of the LPGA Tour’s best-known golfers. This will be her third appearance at the Classic. She missed the cut in 2017 and finished fifth in 2020 when the Classic was played in the fall before no fans because of the pandemic.

The Classic is always one of the highlights of the New Jersey sports year. The tournament began in 1986 and has been held every year since except for a three-year gap from 2007-09. Since ShopRite became the presenting sponsor in 1992, the Classic has raised more than $40 million for charity.
