Pamela Anderson praised by Jamie Lee Curtis for ‘act of rebellion’ in ditching make-up at Fashion Week

Pamela Anderson has been showered with praise after ditching the make-up and going bare-faced at Paris Fashion Week.
The Baywatch star, 56, looked gorgeous as she rocked up at a series of shows last week without a scrap of make-up on, with the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis hailing it an ‘act of rebellion’.
Pamela was photographed at the Isabel Marant Womenswear Spring/Summer 2024 last Wednesday, looking radiant in a long yellow frock.
Then on Saturday, the actress attended the Andreas Kronthaler For Vivienne Westwood showcase, sporting a bare face once again as well as a tweed ensemble, complete with an oversized hat.
Her look was soon swept up by the internet, with social media users praising Pamela for shunning beauty expectations for women in the public eye.
Taking to Instagram, Halloween actress Jamie couldn’t sing Pammy’s praises enough.
‘To hell with anyone who criticises her. This took guts, and the reactions we saw and heard are exactly why. Women should feel comfortable in their own skin, and if wearing make-up harms that, they should never be expected to look a certain way,’ one fan wrote.
‘I am proud to say that I’ve ALWAYS adored her. Full glam and no glam- naturally beautiful – INSIDE and out! Love you @pamelaanderson’, one said.
Another praised: ‘I hate that showing up in your own skin is courageous, but GOD IT ABSOLUTELY IS. And coming from her, it is especially powerful. What an icon!’
Pamela’s reasons for going bare-faced are actually more personal than you might think.
She told Elle Magazine in August that she decided to try a new look after her make-up artist, Alexis Vogel, sadly died from breast cancer.
‘And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it’s just better for me not to wear makeup.’
Pamela described the experience of going without make-up as ‘freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious too.’
She wants to encourage other women to follow in her footsteps.
‘I think we all start looking a little funny when we get older,’ she quipped.
‘And I’m kind of laughing at myself when I look at the mirror. I go, “Wow, this is really what’s happening to me?” It’s a journey.’
